I'm not terribly well versed on cell phones, I owned one that I didn't use for two years before I realized it could receive text messages, but I'm trying to help figure out how to get pictures off of a friend's phone. He has a Sanyo PM8200 camera phone, and we're trying to figure out how to download pictures from it to his computer. I mistakenly assumed it would work like any regular digital camera, and just got him a USB cable for that phone. He's told me that when he hooks it up to his computer it recognizes the phone, but doesn't act like a regular removable drive, apparently you need special software to be able to transfer pictures off the phone. My Google-Fu may be weak, but I've looked high and low, and the only resources I can find for this magical software seem to cost around $20. While it's something I would think the manufacturer should provide for free, I can't find a single thing on Sprint or Sanyo's websites, but I can't fathom it being this complicated to just download an image off of a cellphone. Anyone ever owned one of these phones or know where to go to find what he needs, or should we just suck it up and pay up?
'The caller then records the consumer's 'Yes' response and thus obtains a voice signature. According to complaints the FCC has received and public news reports, the fraudulent callers impersonate representatives from organizations that provide a service and may be familiar to the person receiving the call, such as a lender or utility, to establish a legitimate reason for trying to reach the consumer,' the news release said.Teresa Thomas, 49, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, said today that she'd received a similar phone call about a month ago.' I can hear your voice 540p. The person on the other line sounded like a young woman. This signature can later be used by the scammers to pretend to be the consumer and authorize fraudulent charges via telephone,' an FCC news release said.'
I am using the Sanyo USB cable.I have downloaded and installed the drivers using the.ini files from the following location:The Windows Phone and Modem Options dialog box shows the phone on COM4 and is able to communicate with it.BitPim is able communicate with the phone enough to display information about it on the Protocol Log tab. It also retrieves and displays the directory structure, backs it up to my hard drive, and reboots the phone.BUT!!! BitPim cannot detect the phone as a phone or get data from the phone. I've tried using the PM-8200, SCP-8100, and the Other CDMA phone settings.According to postings on various cell phone message boards, Sprin.(continues). Lets say you just took a pic and you select send picture, and choose from phone book, and then choose a name with a mobile phone, home phone, and email.
It never sends it to the email address as far as I can tell it sends it to the mobile number even if it cant receive picture messages. What gives? In order to mail pictures from your camera you have to create a phone book entry with out mobile phone number. Or go into your phone book then in to the contact and send it from the email address. Rather counter intuitive. I just got my sanyo pm-8200. On my old phone (sanyo 6200) I had the wireless web service from like back in 02.so i told them that i want to keep that service even with the new sanyo 8200 i got.i'm still able to go online right now, i'm not sure if it's the wirelssweb service that allows me to surf the web on the phone.or it's just the '2 free months' vision service, but when i log into my account i still see the wireless web, but not that vision serivce. Anyone else tried it yet??I was really thinking about just paying for vision, but sprint has gone too far with their vision, before you can surf any site with their vision, but now you have to pay a monthly fee like ebay ($3.99/month) on top of the regular vision fees. And befor.(continues).
USB driver for the Sany Vero SCP-3820? I want to see if I can use Bitpim to download pictures and contacts and upload ringtones to this phone, but nobody anywhere has a USB driver for it. It only has 11 or 12 megs memory and no memory card slot, so it can't take many pictures.
